As young children growing up, nobody ever says, “I want to be a copywriter.” It’s an avocation that chooses you. Somewhere between writing articles for the school newspaper and a term paper for advertising and marketing class in college, a light goes on and shouts, “this is what I should do, be a copywriter!”
Cursed with this gift, I’ve toiled the better part of two decades as a copywriter for a number of different industries: advertising, engineering, insurance, public relations, and publishing just to name a few. During that time, I developed and refined a tell-it-to-your-cousin style of copywriting that holds a conversation with the reader rather than a lecture. Since it’s much easier to tell a story to your cousin, the tone is friendlier and far easier to digest.
In 2002, I started a copywriting company, HiRoad Communications. As a freelance copywriter the mission remains the same: to develop and refine a conversational yet distinct voice for each piece. Only now it’s for clients of all sizes, from the owner-operated small business to large corporations. Whether working on site or from the home office in Plymouth, Massachusetts, we can find the right voice for your next writing project.
